Certifications
What we can prove, in writing.
We buy boards rather than make them, so most certification belongs to the board mill and travels with the pallet. This page lists what we can put in your folder, what we cannot claim, and the documents that come with a shipment.
How it works
The certificate follows the board.
A factory that buys melamine-faced MDF does not hold the CARB certificate for that MDF — the mill does. What we can do is run certified board, keep the mill's certificate for the batch, and pass the copy to you with the shipping documents.
That is why our product pages name the board grade per SKU instead of putting a wall of logos on the home page. When you buy, you get the specific document for the specific board in that container.
- Board certificates are copied per shipment, not per website
- Every certificate carries a mill name, a report number and a validity date
- If a document is missing, we say so before the deposit, not after
The table
Claim by claim.
This is the honest status of every claim a buyer has asked us about. Ask for any of the available documents and you will get the PDF, with the mill's name visible.
| Claim | Status | What we can send |
|---|---|---|
| CARB P2 / TSCA Title VI (board) | Available on certified board | Mill certificate and TSCA Title VI statement for the batch |
| E0 / ENF (GB/T 39600) | Available on request | Board supplier's test report |
| EN 717-1 / EN 13986 | Available on request | Third-party test report, cost shared with the buyer |
| FSC | Only when the board is FSC-certified | The mill's chain-of-custody number — not ours |
| CE marking | Not applicable to furniture | Explained below; we do not put a CE mark on any product |
| UKCA | Not applicable to furniture | Same reason as CE |
| GPSR (EU 2023/988) | Buyer responsibility | We supply the technical file and the manufacturer details for your EU responsible person |
| Lacey Act | Declaration per shipment | Species and country of harvest for every wood component |
| ISPM 15 (pallets) | Supplier responsibility | IPPC stamp on solid-wood pallets; plywood packing is exempt |
| ISO 9001 | Not certified | We do not claim it. Process documents available instead |
| BSCI / Sedex | Not audited yet | We will host an audit when a buyer requires one |
The CE question
Furniture is not in the CE scope.
Buyers ask for CE because it looks authoritative. For furniture sold in the EU there is no applicable CE directive — CE covers toys, electrical equipment, machinery and construction products, not household furniture. A Chinese supplier printing CE on a pet cabinet is repeating a claim it cannot support.
What does apply from 13 December 2024 is the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988: a product must be safe, traceable, and have an EU-based responsible person named on it. We supply the manufacturer details and the technical file; the responsible person is the importer's or the brand's job to appoint.
- No CE or UKCA logo on our products, packaging or website
- GPSR: manufacturer identification, batch traceability and technical file supplied per SKU
- EU responsible person: appointed by the importer or brand, in the EU
